I still love Lily Donaldson.

Lily Donaldson has officially been on this earth for 26 years (as of three days ago). In model years, she’s pushing it. She’s no longer the model of the moment, but like any true star, longevity is key and a decade after being scouted, she’s still working. I have been a fan throughout the whole lifespan of this blog (four years in March), and even before then. Those of you who have stuck with me throughout the years may remember an insurgence of Lily-Donaldson-fan-girl type posting back in 2009/2010 which has since waned (partially due to the fact that I think people were getting sick of it, partially because it got a bit creepy) but you shouldn’t take that as a reflection of my lack of fandom. Lily still kills it for me, especially in this Dazed & Confused editorial for their February edition. Check out the rest, below:

Lily Watch #26.

I am keeping this short because it has recently occurred to me that I write too much. I don’t know what happened because I never used to be that way, but lately it’s like I’m saying one thing but using three billion words to say it. Of course I think I’m pretty hilarious/clever/witty/interesting when I say whatever it is that I say, but that’s just me. And you guys aren’t me. And I think the attention span of most of you is not high enough to accommodate the extreme rants I have been going on. No offense intended – it’s more than fair. I can go on and on and on and literally be saying nothing.

Kind of like now.

I haven’t done a Lily Watch in a while. For those who are new(er) to the blog, Lily Donaldson is one of my favourite models of all time. Top 5 definitely. Although my obsession has subsided slightly over time, I will never get over the amazing doll-like face of hers. I’m sharing this shot from the Hugo Boss Orange Fall 2011 campaign with you because it combines the beautiful Lily  with one of my other model obsessions – Jon Kortajarena. There is no explanation necessary for why I am obsessed with him. If you don’t know, you probably shouldn’t be reading this blog. Two babes in one. Score!

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these. Because of that I have two Lily Donaldson related items to share with you today. One being the Aldo Spring 2011 campaign – where the socks and sandals trend is still prolific (above and below), and the other much more exciting piece of news being the fact that she is renting out her East Village, New York City apartment on Avenue B:

I love this loft!!! Kitchen, huge lounge, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, dressing room and laundry (all spread comfortably over 1700 square feet) for the bargain price of US$7995/month. The place is amazing. This is where I really wish I had won lotto on the weekend.
