Not sure who this girl is but James took this photo a while ago. Photo/James K Lowe. Highs: The Olympics. Very soon Ben and I are off on a holiday and it is really exciting because it has been a while since I went on a holiday and I have been saving and yeah, I’m going to have no money at all when I get back but hey, I could die soon so seize the day and all that. We’re going to London to see some friends and to Copenhagen and to this little island in Greece that has no wheeled vehicles (you walk, water taxi or take a donkey ride! Also, while on the topic of Greece, is it just me or am…

A couple of shots from the Matteau Swim Summer 2016 lookbook. Photos/Alexanda Nattaf for Matteau Swim.  Highs: Our trip to Europe is all booked and paid for (well, 90% booked and paid for), and now all there is left is to go! Surely you have seen that America’s Got Talent video of Grace VanderWaal before but if you haven’t, do it.  Speaking of talented kids, I’m obsessed with this one. If I am ever in a bad mood, watching this cheers me right up. He’s so bloody cute. We finished all of Gilmore Girls (which was fantastic, by the way. Highly recommend the re-watch) and started watching that tv show, Shameless – the US version. I mean, I’m nowhere near as invested as I was…

Bon Iver on Saturday night. Highs: I went to Sydney on the weekend to see Bon Iver play this special retrospective show as part of the Vivid festival and it was at the Sydney Opera House and it was amazing. I took some videos with my Fuji but the audio quality is bad, there’s one on my instagram incase you want to hear it, and I guess if you follow me on snapchat you would’ve heard way better audio on there (how is that a thing? The iPhone has incredible audio quality for a phone). I don’t even really have words for the concert really but they played on this circular stage with the audience around them and I am positive hundreds of people were crying in that room,…

Maddy Budd. Photo/James K Lowe.  Highs: I’m going to Sydney on Friday! This profile on Vivienne Teo, on Lani’s blog. It’s really cool and interesting. Vivienne founded this event called Break Bread which you can read about here. If you are here next weekend I would really recommend getting a ticket, it looks dope. I didn’t buy lunch the whole week last week. It doesn’t sound like that big of an achievement but if you know me, you know I go out and buy something for lunch Monday – Friday and last week I didn’t! Go me! I brought it to work every day! I did end up eating 6 slices of toast on Friday, but it still counts. Already up to season 5…

Highs: Did I tell you I am now officially a full time employee with full time salary? The last time I was a full time salaried employee was in 2010. I forgot how nice it is to get a real pay cheque guaranteed on the same day every week. I have less time to go out in the middle of the day and do Nike Training Club workouts or nap, but you know, my boss is pretty nice and flexible with my hours so EVERYONE WINS! (Especially me though.) Sebastian Errazuriz’s ‘wooden wave cabinet‘. Lucy Zee’s tweets. (And her snapchat, for that matter.) For the past month or so, in anticipation of Gilmore Girls: Seasons (it’s a Gilmore Girls revival incase you weren’t aware), Ben…

Highs and Low(e)s/Happy Birthday to Blog

Posted on March 6, 2016

Spectators at a Sports Event, 1933. Photo/Martin Munkacsi. It’s really weird, knowing that I have had this blog for seven years today. SEVEN YEARS. That is longer that Ben’s kid’s whole entire life. I’m so fucking old now, it’s mental. I’ve been thinking about it all day, how all these things have changed in the last seven years and how much of it is documented on here. (Not that it is easy to find now I have taken the easily accessible archive links away.) I had this whole idea last month that I was going to just shut this blog down today, on this birthday, some big dramatic shut down and then just never log in here again and never explain it to anyone…
