Goodbye Jenny, Hello new AS Colour summer stock…

Posted on November 9, 2010

Today is a sad day. Today we say auf wiedersehen to everyone’s favourite model, karaoke queen (and let’s not forget, rapper), and all round good time girl from Alabama, Jenny Albright. Jenny flies back to America today, after a 2.5 month long stint in New Zealand. In fact, she is on the plane right now. Jenny and I met during Fashion Week and have been hanging out ever since. She will be sorely missed. But all not is lost. Today is also kind of a happy day because while Jenny is flying home right now, new summer stock has just flown in to AS Colour. New styles include scoop neck tees (for guys and girls), girls’ pocket tees and singlets! All perfect for this great…

Bon Iver on Saturday night. Highs: I went to Sydney on the weekend to see Bon Iver play this special retrospective show as part of the Vivid festival and it was at the Sydney Opera House and it was amazing. I took some videos with my Fuji but the audio quality is bad, there’s one on my instagram incase you want to hear it, and I guess if you follow me on snapchat you would’ve heard way better audio on there (how is that a thing? The iPhone has incredible audio quality for a phone). I don’t even really have words for the concert really but they played on this circular stage with the audience around them and I am positive hundreds of people were crying in that room,…

Hey I don't know you and this is crazy but I made this video – watch it, maybe?

Posted on April 9, 2012

If you’re good at the internet, you’ll know where I’m going already by reading the title of this post. If not, get with the programme! Long story short, a good few weeks back I saw the original parody of Carly Rae Jepsen’s music video for her single, ‘Call Me Maybe’ (starring tween heart-throbs Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and Ashley Tisdale) and I was immediately obsessed. Then and there I vowed to make a parody video of the parody video. I promised myself I would remake the video as part of promotion for Isaac and my ‘Thugged Out Since Cub Scouts‘ tees back in February, but life got in the way and it didn’t get done in time. Nevertheless, a solid month later I did…

Highs: The All Blacks. Duh. (I got up at 2:00am last night to brave the cold and the crazy drunks and watch the 4:00am Rugby World Cup semi-finals game last night. I felt super patriotic. It was pretty fricken fun – and I don’t even like rugby.) Murray Crane’s blog. The posts come often, they’re short and sharp and often very, very funny. That man is the king of puns. THE KING OF PUNS! Accompanying Isaac on an hour taxi ride to Long Island to this mall in what seemed like the middle of nowhere, to purchase $6000 worth of Marc Ecko Cut & Sew clothing on behalf of a bunch of middle-aged guys. The taxi was not exactly fun (car sick anyone?) but the…

Highs: All these new people I’ve met over the last week, and all these people I’ve been reunited with over the week, including Corinna Studier, the German model I haven’t seen in almost two years, Olivia Fleming, whom I haven’t seen since May, and Jenny Albright, the model from Alabama who is the funniest girl ever. But the best reunion of all has to my one with Isaac. We’ve spoken every day since he left but haven’t seen each other for months, and nothing has changed. I love that. I met Billy from ohwrd. He was super busy with work but still was nice enough to find the time to show me around. So nice. Also, he introduced me to Popeyes. If you’ve never tried…

Highs: Styling the Sylvester Marr Factory show last Sunday! My friend Jenny is in town for the first time in like, three years, and even though she got me to stop the car in the middle of the road so she could get out and take a photo for instagram it is still really great having her here. In preparation for running a timed mile on Aug 30 aka ‘The Fastest Day in Nike History’, I ran 3 x 1km laps (with 90 second rests between) in 4:53 per lap which is actually insane I mean, it’s not super fast for your average person who can run, but for me it’s like bloody lightning. I feel like I could give up now, I can’t believe…
