Natarsha Orsman - completely natural - with no make-up and no retouching.

Before I go ahead and type up the interview, I’ve got to say something: Yes, I do realise that I haven’t done a ‘Models I met and liked’ in a really long time. I don’t know why. I kind of just stopped for a while because I got a little sick of it and because I felt like I was running out of models I wanted to interview. Then, I later got a job across both Clyne and Nova (modelling agencies). I’m still doing that job right now. It’s part time, it doesn’t involve booking models and this blog sits as a separate thing so don’t feel like you’re going to be only seeing models from those two agencies on here. Whoever I like and think fits with the blog will be featured, regardless of who they’re signed to. So yeah, I just thought I should clarify that and without further ado, here’s a new face from Wellington that I’ve had my eye on (IN THE LEAST CREEPY WAY POSSIBLE) for a couple of months:

Name: Natarsha Orsman
Agency: Kirsty Bunny/N Model Management
Age: Almost 16
Height: 5’9″
Ethnicity: Half European, half Thai

How did you get into modelling?
I did this thing called ‘Project Bloom’ which is this thing where teenagers can go and do a little photo shoot. They said that they would sign me to Kirsty Bunny but they never did. Then I did the Wearable Art Awards show and a makeup artist scouted me, she suggested Kirsty Bunny as an agency. I signed in January of this year.

Favourite modelling job so far?
All the ones I’ve done with Lou Hatton!

Dream modelling job?
The Victoria’s Secret show because everyone big does it.

Dream modelling destination?
New York.

So what do you do aside from modelling? You’re a dancer, right?
I am. I do Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Musical Theatre.
No Tap?
No, I’m terrible at Tap!
If you had to choose right now, would you pick dancing or modelling?
Right now I’d choose modelling because I’m better at it!
But you’re in school right now anyway.
I go to Wellington Girls College. I love school. I want to finish.
What subjects are you doing?
Economics, Dance Drama, Psychology, Maths and English.

Favourite food?
Every food except mushrooms.
What about brussels sprouts?
I’ve never tried them!

Favourite musician right now?

Favourite place?
Nong Khai – it’s in Thailand.

Favourite models?
Bambi Northwood-Blyth. I love her brows.

What’s a trend you hate?
Sneans. Unless the sneakers are really good.

What’s the last thing you bought?
A Chicken McCheese Combo.

Pick two: Good looking, intelligent, emotionally stable: I don’t like this question. It’s going to sound cheesy but everyone’s beautiful in their own way, you know? If you want to be intelligent you can be if you work hard at it. Everyone is emotionally unstable. So everyone is all those things, how could I pick two?

If you could meet anyone living or dead, who would it be?
Nelson Mandela.

What does someone need to do to impress you?
Be taller than me – if you’re a guy, if you’re a girl… Be nice. Don’t be stuck up.

What’s something people wouldn’t necessarily know about you?
I have a phobia of birds.
How bad? Like what if there was a bird here right now, just over there?
Get under the table, bad.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A dance teacher or a professional model. Or both.

Favourite quote?
“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
That’s Dr Seuss, right?

Draw me a self portrait:

Note: I actually took a whole bunch more photos of Natarsha which are going to go up this weekend/next week. Keep your eyes peeled.
