Hey friends, mortal enemies and indifferent folk who have nothing better to do right now than read my blog. I hope you are well. Today is Monday, and in Auckland, it’s a public holiday. It’s also the day of the annual Laneway Festival, where music and outdoors and stalls and food and general festie goings on, go on, and Imma be there in collaboration with Lee.

Gates open at 11:30am, but this blogger needs to arrive early. I’m packing my things for the day: sunscreen, enthusiasm, money, suitably-alternative-yet-appropriate-for-all-day-wear shoes, camera, batteries, my assistant for the day – Tom (who doesn’t know what he’s in for – I can be a psycho to work for, ask anyone), and most importantly: my phone and its 3G internet connection. Why? So I can update you on what’s happening backstage, frontstage, in the Lee VIP tent, outside the Lee VIP tent, at the food stalls and in the silos via twitter, instagram (@thedownlowe) and Facebook. Feel free to live vicariously through me by following any or all of those channels. Or none. New Zealand’s a free country – you do what you like, man.
