The other day I braved the wind and rain to take a little trip to Westhaven to document the arrival of this new Karen Walker straw Cadet hat in a bit of a different environment. While it’s good for ‘What I Wore Today’ instagrams, the concrete wall outside my house doesn’t have exactly the most character.
The Cadet hat is something I’ve coveted ever since I first laid eyes on it at Karen’s New York Fashion Week show in September. Not for its wearability or practicality (a tall straw hat is proving to take a lot more confidence to wear in public than one first anticipated) but for the theatricality. And sometimes it’s nice to buy something just because it’s cute and you like it.
