Fashion month was over a couple of weeks back, but it’s taken me this long to have a proper look through the street-style photos that emerged over September/October. Street-style during fashion weeks are a bit of a weird thing – people tend to wear pretty high maintenance outfits to shows, which makes for pretty fantastic shots, but for me it’s hard to relate to. My favourite kinds of fashion-week-street-style images are ones that features outfits or styling techniques (yeah, I know, ‘styling techniques’ is probably one of the wankiest things I’ve written in a while) that are are aspirational, but attainable enough for your average joe (ie: myself) to wear/implement. With all that being said, here are some of my favourites:
Two trends that are immediately apparent (and attractive) to me after scouring through hundreds of photos (seriously, hundreds): blue on blue on blue – including blue denim on blue denim, and overalls. Overalls everywhere. My brother got a pair in New York (he opted for super baggy) because he’s one of those super on trend/ahead of the trend dudes. Personally I could only do the shorts version, and even then I’m concerned that they’d make me look 12 years old…
Other trends I noted? Kenzo sweaters. Everywhere. Kenzo everywhere. Most noticeably the ones with Kenzo emblazoned across the front:
Prints on prints, as per.
Still loving girls dressed as boys – that whole menswear thing that people are probably over but I will never be… you know what I’m saying. Most of all, loving the blue and white striped button down shirt, and shirts with crew neck sweaters – very Ralph Lauren, very prep, very not good for girls with boobs:

Mimi Fukuyoshi - one of my favourites. Best dressed girl for sure. Couldn't find a photo online so this is one I took.
And a few more I loved that don’t fit any of the above categories:

Ms K.I. Awsome I have to say that I completely agree with you regarding blue on blue on blue provided it is all demin!! Also I am a fan of high wasted denim cut offs. Not to blow my own trumpet but I was rocking this look last summer but just not quite as short… though i also fear that probably made me look a little pre-pubecent…. I guess that is when a boater is a bad idea! lol
glad you are still blogging! xoxo
I want to wear EVERYTHING that Miroslava Duma does. For reals, ultimate girl crush realised.
TOM SACH? I’M AWARE.
Hey Katherine! Do you know where you would be able to get a pair of dungarees in NZ? I found the Lonely Hearts one, but at the moment they are out of my price range. :)
Re: Micky – going to address this on the blog later this week!
