- This week I’ve got something a little different for you. This Thursday evening is ‘Talking Trends‘. Hosted by Debbie Cavit, owner of Cavit&Co (you may have seen the store in Parnell), and Jeremy Hansen, Editor of HOME NZ magazine, ‘Talking Trends’ is an evening that will see Debbie and Jeremy cover fashion, design and architectural trends for the 2012-2013 season, (budding creatives? This is for you.) with all profits made on the evening going to the children of NPH – a non-profit organisation that supports orphaned and abandoned children in Latin America and the Carribean. If the idea of knowledge or supporting children in need (*cough cough*) isn’t enough to entice you along, there’s also going to be an auction that includes jewellery from Wunderkammer and boutique accommodation in Hanmer Springs, Glengarry wines and tapas from Besos. (So much bang for your buck!) I’ll also be there. (Although I’m not sure if that persuades or dissuades you from coming.) - This new Keds x Opening Ceremony logo tee is classic. You really can’t go wrong with it. Tuck it into a skirt and chuck on some sneakers and you’re basically the coolest kid on the block. Pair it with a cap and some jeans, you’re still the coolest kid on the block. I know it’s a Summer item, and us Southern Hemisphere-rs are going into ‘freeze-your-butt-off’ season right now, but let’s think ahead people! - Speaking of things that are stocked at Opening Ceremony, here’s something for the boys: right now the Adam Kimmel x Carhartt collection is on sale, and as well as this awesome pocket tee that I’m pretty sure every person ever would want to own, they’ve got this red cashmere beanie on sale for US$75.00! My friend Sarah has the black version from a few seasons back and whenever she wears it (she’s wearing it in this video), (along with a Carhartt tee) I feel so jealous. The thing is damn soft.
