- There’s no denying that caps are a huge thing right now. Well, they were never not a huge a thing, but I feel like they’ve become more and more popular with the mainstream of late. I don’t know, it’s just an observation okay?! Jeez. Anyway, I like caps and my latest favourite is this collaboration one between Boylston Trading Co and Fairend. The 100% wool creation comes in three colourways – grey/grey (above), grey/black and navy/red. To be honest, I’d probably wear all of them, but the grey/grey is my favourite – grey is so versatile. You can wear it with literally anything. Even grey. It’s snapback too, so it’s good for those with ponytails. You really can’t go wrong. The cap was released last week and is available here for US$60.00.

- Whilst traversing the Boylston site, I came across this awesome, awesome APC sweater. It’s called the ‘Space-Dyed’ pullover and if you click the photo to zoom in, you’ll see the thing is made of the best melange-y, texture-y fabric – it’s a cotton-linen blend – and in this amazing purpley-maroon-white colourway. If that even exists as a colourway. Whatever, it’s been a long day. The point is, it’s a sweater with a difference. It’d look equally as good on a girl as it would on a boy (it’s men’s). Imagine wearing it, sleeves rolled up and paired the grey cap! SO GOOD! Get it here for US$169.00.

- So you’ve got your head and torso covered, I thought it might be a nice idea to add some shoes (just because I haven’t mentioned pants doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wear them, FYI). These Comme des Garcons Play x Jack Purcell’s aren’t new, but I thought I’d put them in ‘New week, new things’ today because after a long while, a new drop has arrived at Fabric on High Street. I like the Chuck Taylor versions, but for some reason these Jack Purcell’s suit me more. The black heart on cream is my favourite colourway. (See the other variations here.) Get in quick – Fabric is the only stockist in New Zealand and I have no doubt the things will sell out.
May I just say that I have a woolen (blend I think) cap, and it’s the warmest thing ever, does the work of a beanie. Truth be told! Get a cap!
All such cool stuff, you have excellent taste! What I’ve been trawling everywhere for (and not finding) is a good quality backpack – on a career break and starting back at uni soon to complete a Masters and don’t want to carry the usual garish teen nonsense… I’ve been drooling over the thought of a black leather one, or something tomboyish in a check fabric, any ideas where’s good to look?
I have always hated caps almost religiously for every year of my life but this season I’ve been totally converted. These things are kind of awesome : lonely hearts a/w lookbook anyone? perfection.
