In case you weren’t aware, my mate Tim and his mate Joe make up The Shutter Pirates. About a month ago, the two of them borrowed an idea – to throw a democratic photography exhibition. Over 50 people have submitted photos (printed cheaply, on photocopiers and your standard copy paper) over the last month or so, and thisĀ Thursday they’re going to be exhibited at Flagship (upstairs, 574 Great North Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland) from 6:00pm to 9:00pm for anyone and everyone to see andĀ steal at the end of the night if so inclined.
The reason I’m reminding you of this event, is because I have printed up some photos for the exhibition. And, because I’m a freak, I’ve actually had them printed up nicely (not super fancy, but definitely levels and levels above your standard photocopier*) by my mates at The Digital Darkroom, so if you’re interested in taking a look, I would love to see you see them on Thursday night!
*Full Disclosure: I am now having severe regrets about investing in having the pictures printed up so nicely just for them to be given away (I’m not good at sharing) and I keep having visions of some kid taking it and then chucking it under their bed or standing on it and forgetting about it. DON’T BE THAT PERSON!

Hahaha, maybe you can leave a note for the winner attached to the back that kindly asks them to treasure their gift :-) Congrats, you deserve the exposure if that lovely pic is anything to go by!
I’ve been looking forward to this exhibition for what seems like ages. It’s such an egalitarian concept. Now with bonus incentive! Olivia is such a nice girl. I might steal your portrait of her. I promise to have it framed nicely. I use the framers that do restoration for the art gallery. They’re choice.
Re: Louise – They printed them gloss instead of matt! Now I’m having a crisis, I don’t know what to do.
You’re the best.
