New week, new things.

  • I am always on the lookout for good knitwear. It’s a wardrobe staple and something I wear the sh*t out of, so when something like this baby blue crew neck comes along I get pretty excited. First of all, the colour. Isaac had this baby blue sweater knitted for him about a year and a half ago, after seeing it in a Prada collection and I remember thinking the periwinkle colour was right up my alley. This is kind of the same shade. Secondly, the thing has a crew neck high enough to wear with shirts and thirdly, it’s 100% lambswool: thick and super warm. The sweater is men’s (of course) and it’s by Barkers. For those who aren’t so much into that particular shade of blue, it also comes in a darker royal blue, taupe/brown and a grey fair isle (pictured). The sweaters dropped in stores on Friday (just in time for Winter) and only cost $139.99 a pop so check them out. (Special thanks must be made to Barkers for letting me borrow the sweaters, to Sarah, Sarah and Maddy for being my models – note, we’re all wearing size XS – and to James for taking the picture.)

  • Because I’m not really a hard out make up person, I can appreciate when something like these Karen Murrell lipsticks come along. They go on and feel like lip balm which is basically the best thing ever for someone who gets scared of lipstick (read: me). They’re all natural so you can put it on and feel good about not harming your body and the packaging is 100% recyclable so you can feel good about not harming the environment! And for $29.95 you can afford to grab a few. Holla.

  • Last night I discovered this asian lolly store. To be honest, it’s not actually all lollies because I’m pretty sure I saw dried fish and chickens feet in there, but they do have those Koala bear cookie candy things, these things called ‘White Rabbits’ which my friend Sarah says are amazing (and for those who purchase, that inside layer isn’t the wrapper – you EAT it!), Hello Kitty gummy lollies and a whole host of other crazy asian treats. The store is just down from Barilla (dumpling house, 571 Dominion Road) on Dominion Road. I have no idea what the street number is or the name of the store or when it is open (it was open at 6:00pm on Sunday if that helps?) so this is really vague and Auckland-centric, but check it out if you’re in the area okay?!
