When your name is Whitney Port and you were one of the stars of a mega hit reality tv series (The Hills) and have gone on to star in your very own mega hit reality tv series (The City), whilst also designing a clothing line, there are some preconceived notions of what you’re like, personality wise (snobby, loud, dumb) and the kinds of clothes you will be designing (trash). Basically what I’m trying to say is: it sucks, but if you’re a celebrity breaking into the fashion business, the world is against you.
So, because of that, props have got to go to Whitney Port and her presentation this evening at the OPT. There were pieces I quite liked – a sheer black shirt and a sleeveless lemon coloured printed shirt (below). And you know what? She was even quite nice when she came out to greet the crowd/have her photo taken. Shy, and non-speaking, but definitely not snobby or loud looking at all. I was quietly impressed.
Here’s some of what I saw:

The grey knit looks so soft – I need it! Love the black belted shirt (blouse?) below as well.
And how does she have such flawless skin?! She looks like she’s made of porcelain. (Totally didn’t try and make that rhyme!)
Not my cup of tea but I give her credit for giving it a go despite the naysayers. The grey knit over the shirt/shorts/playsuit [?] is quite nice.
I spy Amber D.
On another note, I can totally see all of this selling.
