Backstage at Julian Danger.

Hey guys, so I’m still getting used to working my way around this new(ish) backend of my blog so posting has been a bit sporadic. Apologies, apologies. Anyhow, I think I’m getting the hang of it (just in time for Australian Fashion Week!) – let me know if anything appears a bit weird on your browsers.

On Thursday night after the first group show of Wellington Fashion Week, I trotted off to Willis York. The Julian Danger show was being held there and I wasn’t really sure what to expect, not knowing the brand that well and not knowing anything about the salon.

Up a few flights of stairs and upon entry, the good vibes were evident. The drinks were flowing, there was a loud buzz and chatter and people seemed to be having a good time. There was a DJ booth, fairy lights and flowers mapped out the catwalk like airport runway lights, the walls were exposed bricks and there was a tonne of art the place. It soon became apparent that this was the place the cool kids come to hang out.

Here are a few shots from backstage:

Sequoia (Nova) - in her first week of modelling. Like I said, the edgier version of Ashika Pratt.

Katie Holcroft (Monarch) all smiles in her pink wig.

Chloe Graham (62 Models) texting, as all good teenage models do.

Imogen Wilson styled the show. She asked me not to take a photo of her board. I did it anyway.

New face Madison (Clyne).

  • Whenever I go to get my hair done by the lovely Lisa at Willis York, it’s my chill time. I love how the place reminds me of a loft apartment in NYC… and the art installations are awesome. I went to a client event there last week (you can see on my blog if you dare)…

Everyone there is sooooo lovely. I’m really wondering where they put the catwalk though? Straight through the middle?
