The other day I paid a visit to the newly expanded and newly named Playpark by Karen Walker store in Newmarket. Playpark isn’t just a Karen Walker store anymore. For starters, the store incorporates a whole new bunch of Karen’s favourite brands – from Steven Alan to Cacharel, to Rittenhouse, Topshop and Hunter boots. Secondly, it’s much bigger. Twice as big at least. It does, however, look much like it did before. It’s still got that Karen Walker feel with that fleshy-pink colour featuring on walls and those giant animal statues, quirky details in the decor – old white porcelain vases of flowers and irregular vintage-looking frames on the wall, and those saloon-esque changing room doors.
I took advantage of the fact that I had an hour to spare and an on call cameraman/stylist and decided to take a few photos of some of my favourite outfits as well as the store. Here’s what went down:
And onto the clothes! These were a few of my favourite things:
First up, this awesome bird-print shirt. One of my favourite pieces in the whole store. The tuck-front pants are also amazing and if they had them in my size (it pays to be quick when it comes to Karen Walker!) I would surely snap them up.
These pants are the most comfortable thing ever. EVER.
Phew. For all this stuff (and much, much more), check out the store:

That orange biker jacket/blue dress combo is SO GOOD!
And buy that pyjama shirt immediately.
Love the bright colour of the orange jacket! my winter wardrobe is seriously lacking in colour.
and no way!! I love cacharel, despite the reality that I’ll never be able to own anything from them. I mean, isn’t this dress just flipping AMAZING?

I hope playpark stocks that dress so I can try it on and maybe dream a little! (Any chance they’ll stock erdem? haha)
p.s just recently found your blog, big ups for the great content!
Re: Pauline – Thanks for the kind words. I got a hater comment yesterday so your one makes me feel a whole lot better!
The blue dress, orange jacket combo is fantastic! Bright colours are your friend clearly!
The orangey jacket is cool…but I like the navy tennis dress underneath more. Crave the marle pants, and the Rittenhouse sweater. Birdie print shirt….buy AFTER the navy tennis dress, marle pants and sweater.
That jacket + dress! Seems like everyone else agrees :D
Me too! The dress + jacket = HOT.
That’s What’s in store title sounds familiar…
I bought the beau coops x karen walker shoes that you are wearing – they are super comfy and the contrasting heel/platform is fantastic. The jacket and dress combo really is great – such a good colour to pick up a cold wintery day.
