How did everyone fare in the Vogue Online Shopping Night extravaganza yesterday? Did you grab a bargain? Are you now in the worst credit card debt of your life? Tell me about it!

In the spirit of post-online-shopping-joy and clothes and Vogue, here’s a few words I had with Vogue Australia’s Kirstie Clements:

Me: I know who you are, but my readers may not. Who are you?
KC: Kirstie Clements, Editor-in-Chief, Vogue Australia

Me: Tell us a little bit about how you got to be working for Vogue.
KC: I answered an ad in the paper for the job as receptionist at Vogue back in 1985. I got the job and I’ve pretty much been here ever since. I’ve worked in every area of the magazine, so I have a good understanding of what every employee does, which I believe is an asset. I also lived and worked for Vogue Australia in Paris for 6 years which gave me a global perspective.

Me: What are your favourite trends from the runway, for this season?
KC: Sexy, fetish dressing like we saw at Louis Vuitton. Black lace, everywhere at Valentino, Pucci, Lanvin and Marc Jacobs. Oversized volume, seen at Stella McCartney and Jil Sander. Attention to the sleeve, Lanvin, Miu Miu and Givenchy. Think about black, nudes (Calvin Klein, Celine) purple, green and blue ( all at Haider Ackermann). And spots! Marc Jacobs, Stella and Lanvin.

Me: What is the most underrated winter essential that you think everyone should have?
KC: A really great coat. The 20′s style black Prada coat with detachable fur collar is divine.

Thanks Kirstie!
