If there’s anything that Twenty-seven Names does particularly well, it’s pretty. I’m not the girliest of girls, but I do love the idea of girly things. While most of my wardrobe is made up of pants and t-shirts and sweaters and ‘practical’ clothes, I do have a couple of pretty things, one being this beautiful dress from Twenty-seven Names’ Winter’s collection. I have been wearing it a lot lately, much more than I thought I ever would (the best purchases are always like that).
Anyhow, I digress. To the point folks, to the point!. Three days ago I came across the Twenty-seven Names Spring/Summer 2011-2012 lookbook. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we’re barely into winter so why am I thinking about summer, blah, blah, blah. Who cares? I’ve looked at it probably about 13 times now. The collection is super cute. And cute supersedes all seasons. These are some of my favourite things (you can see the rest of the lookbook here):
Firstly, the ‘Zoe’ dress (top right) is my favourite of the collection. It comes in 5 colourways, but I’m pretty sure I’m going to get it in cream. The collar is what does it for me. The ‘Wild Horses’ lace dress on the right is also pretty adorable. Like I said, collars for the win. I’ve never had a tea party before, but I would say that I could wear either of those two dresses would be most appropriate attire for one.
I would invest in these two dresses also – if I were taller. There’s something about them that makes me think that I would be just that little bit too short to wear them. I love the button-down on the linen/cotton ‘Wooden Ships’ dress and there’s something supremely nostalgic for me about the ‘Piano’ dress on the right. I think I had a skirt like that when I was young. Oh, if only I would grow a few inches.
The sheer shirt on the right is called the ‘Catherine sleeveless shirt’. I think it’s a sign. A sign that it is meant to be mine. (HEY THAT RHYMES!) I am definitely getting it. I am going to get it and I am going to pair it with that tweed skirt I got the other day.
The ‘Lil’ Mary’ coat on the right is just the thing I need for spring/summer. It’s made of linen so it’ll be light, but the perfect weight to keep the chill off. It also has pockets, and one can never underestimate the value of pockets.
Navy merino cardigan? Yes. Plain, white shirt? Yes. These are both basics that will work well in my wardrobe. Yes, yes, yes.
As you may be able to tell, I am in a real hurry writing this post. There is one more thing I have to say about this lookbook though, and that is SOCKS AND SANDALS FOR THE WIN! Did anyone else notice those heart-print socks and roman sandals? Of course you did! After being told it’s wrong my entire life, how can something like that look so right?
SO many questions, so little time.
I’ll leave you to ponder that.
Happy Friday readers!

Socks and sandals?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Never!!!!!!! Looks terrible, even zippy, AKA my fav model cant convince me or cant pull them off!! The guy that works at the gross fish and chip shop round the corner has been wearing socks and sandals for a decade. If they haven’t been okay for the last decade the will never be! NEVER!!!! EVER! EVER. They are on the same level as lady gaga’s meat outfit! awwwwwful.
I love the collection, but I’m still aren’t sure about the socks and sandals look. I’ll wear them apart but somehow can’t bring myself to combine them.
LOVE IT x
socks and sandals are cute. if the soles were a different colour to the upper it’d be more fitting. but romans are impossible to find like that
Oooo pretty! :) I liked the collection they showed at ID fashion week – they definitely design pretty clothes :)
