Another thing I bought overseas out of necessity – a wallet. I think I forgot to include it on my original list of ‘things I bought overseas’, but this dark burgundy-brown wallet was in fact, one of my first purchases. I got it in L.A (the first time) at the A.P.C store in West Hollywood, after staring at it for about 40 minutes. (Decisions are not my strongest suit.)
My previous wallet I’d had for four years, was falling apart and I kept losing my eftpos card. I needed to do something about it, but there’s something about buying things at the start of a trip overseas – you’re always wondering if you’re going to find something better later on, you know? So after much um-ing and ah-ing, leaving the shop and coming back, and lots of ’can I afford it?’ and ‘what’s the exchange rate?’ and ‘does it look too much like a Comme wallet?’ conversations with both the shop assistants and Isaac, I overcame my doubts and went for the purchase.
And I have been happy about it ever since. One of the best retail decisions I have ever made, I must say.

And you didn’t stop to think I might want one….?
Kidz. I like the colour. I like the style.
I lose my eftpos card but I need it attached to like a wristband or something.
