Isaac & Katherine's Great Adventure: Seventh stop – New York City.

We finally made it. An 11.45pm overnight flight to JFK and we finally made it – jaded, bleary eyed and cold – to our friend Jenna’s apartment. She greeted us warmly and so did her apartment. This is the biggest place we’ve stayed in since we left Auckland, and probably the toastiest. We ate Gingernuts and home-made bread and her boyfriend even took us to a bakery around the corner called Make My Cake. I got a macadamia nut and white chocolate cookie. It was delicious. We did laundry for the first time in days and days, and took a stroll around the icy streets. All in all it’s been a good day. The only downfall? Our hosts apartment is on the top floor (like in Paris), 5 floors up. There’s no elevator (like in Paris), just 15 mini flights of stairs.

Oh well. At least we’ll start working off all that food we’ve been eating.
