Last week I popped into Karen Walker to see the new(ish) Resort stuff. I tried on this dress and thought it was cute. (More pics below.) It’s sort of got this ‘padded’ feel in the skirt. I can’t explain it, but it’s got this kind of puffed out lining which is oddly comforting. (My explanation sucks, go see it for yourself.) Anyhow, it’s cute and summery and it has pockets, which leads me to this very serious question:
Do I buy it?

It’s very cute! What’s the RRP? (I ask as much for me as for you)
Re: Gemma – Hi! I can’t quite recall exactly, but I do know it’s over $500…
Yes.
As a poor person who doesn’t have disposable income, my rule has always been ‘If you have to ask someone else’s opinion as to whether you should buy it, the answer is no’. Because if you’ve fallen in love with it, it can’t be any other way and you’ll starve for a month to have it.
It doesn’t really have to do with whether it looks good (cause everything will look good on you) – its about feelings.
Just my opinion.
Do it!
Thats far too expensive for a dress if you ask me! With that moolah I’d buy a few dresses from portmans/witchery/cue/country road etc instead :)
Agreed, it’s a little to much money, but it DOES look good on ya :)
Bones – It’s cute. Cost per use? You already know what I think.
the dress is cute. you look cute in it. does it fit well into your existing wardrobe? i never like to leave a negative-vibed comment, but i’m not a fan of shirred bodices. everything else about the dress [print, shape, fit] i like–i just can’t like the bodice. i’m sorry. my vote would be a no. don’t buy it. is there a skirt option? if yes, i’d buy that instead.
i still feel bad for my comment. i don’t mean to sound mean.
I think you should get it. It looks amazing, and it is perfect for summer – you will wear it often (I am sure).
No. there are very similar (the same in style, v. similar in print) at cotton on for $29.95.
DON’t BuY iT!
You could go to a local dressmaker and have it made for at least a quarter of that price. Support your local fashion industry not Karen Walker who I’m sure has pLEntY of money!
No
Nice and cute, but it looks thrift, not $$$
don’t do it kath……get someone to make it for you for like at least 1/4 of that price.
Sigh.. why does all the best stuff have to cost so much money?! You do look adorable in it, and if you’ve got a lazy half-G to put into a dress then why not, life’s short… But that is a heck of a lot of money for what is really quite a casual style of dress (then again, the casual dresses are often the ones that get more wear than anything else so maybe that’s not such a valid point).
My vote – buy an instant kiwi ticket, then decide :)
you are butt ugly…….
