Proenza Schouler Pre-Fall 2010.

As much as I love summer (and I LOVE summer), this Pre-Fall 2010 collection by Proenza Schouler almost makes me wish it was winter already. There’s something lovely, and scholarly, and nerdy but oh-so-cool (nerd-chic?) about these outfits. They’re just so high school to me, but in the best kind of way. Dishevelled schoolgirl is the first thing that comes to mind. I love the socks, I love the shirts! Ahhhh! There are so many things I would wear from the collection! These are my favourites:

Super cute! (I say that intending it to sound not as lame as it does). The shorts (above) are awesome, and I love the coat. I’m not really a coat wearer – I mean, where do you put the darn things once you get inside? – but I would happily wear that navy coat all through winter if I were lucky enough to obtain it. I would also love to wear one of those blue shirts. Actually, who am I kidding? I would wear the whole lot if I could. (More raving and more photos below).

“Hey, here I am, I’m just walking along, going to a meeting, carrying my bookbag/laptop/thing – other hand in pocket, just wearing this awesome shirt with these simple black pants and just being all casual but looking great and all, oh! yeah that’s just a great coat I’ve got on and a yeah, that’s all I’m doing, just walking along and I just happen to be looking ah-mazing…”

Furry bomber! Perfect for winter, perfect for that whole ‘I don’t give a shit (but really I do)’ look that everyone goes for these days. And the jacket on the right! It’s like an awesome, subtler version of a letterman jacket. Also, the contrast piping/trim or whatever it is on the shirts is really doing it for me.

I’m an absolute sucker for a dress. They’re just so easy and sweet and girly. These with the pleats and patterns? Yes, yes, yes! Oh, and I know I mentioned it before, the socks and boots look awesome on these girls. That shoe-sock combo, matched with the preppy kind of dress and the messy hair – I like, I like a lot.
